The ethos

Married to the groove. Literally.

Josh Parish · Founder

I build nights people don't want to leave.

I watched a DJ play a house party when I was 18 and bought my own decks the very next day. Three weeks later I was playing my first gig, and I never stopped. Twelve-plus years on, the taste hasn't changed: house, disco, R&B, the good stuff.

For a long time I thought DJing would always be the side hustle. Quitting the corporate life to follow the music and build this business is the best decision I've ever made.

These days I'm married with two young girls, and that's a big part of why I love this job. I know exactly how good marriage is. Every weekend I get to stand beside a couple right at the start of that same journey, and soundtrack the first night of it.

Why I do this

Wedding DJs have a taste problem.

It's no secret that wedding DJs have a terrible reputation. I hear the horror stories from other vendors all the time: dodgy equipment, DJs who don't actually mix, sets that somehow sound worse than a Spotify playlist. Honestly, standing out wasn't hard. Play real DJ sets, bring gear that looks and sounds the part, and back it with actual taste in music. I don't lean on the same tired wedding cliches all night. I read the room in front of me and play to it.

Plan together, play live

We plan the vibe together before the day. On the night I read the actual room, not a preset playlist.

Your DJ is your DJ

Book me and you get me. If I'm already booked, you'll know exactly which of my team you're getting from day one, and nobody gets switched on you. The whole company is built on that promise.

Gatekeepers of good taste

Your do-not-play list is guarded all night. Your guests' daggiest requests stay off the floor. Yours, I'll allow.

The name is the promise

Married to the Groove means exactly what it says: commitment and craft. I take the music as seriously as you take the day.

If I'm booked

Associate DJs.

I play 70 to 80 weddings a year, so there's a fair chance I'm already taken on your date. When that happens I don't just say sorry. I've handpicked a small crew of DJs I'd trust with my own wedding, each with over ten years behind the decks. Same booth, same speaker rig, same planning process with me, same never-switch promise. Have a listen and you'll hear why.
